This was a favorite forum game of mine, oh man.
So someone starts off with a simple saying, such as "You're walking home one day."
Then someone else adds something fortunate like "Fortunately, it isn't raining."
The next person adds something unfortunate like "Unfortunately, the sky is filled with bees."
It can be as silly as we want it to be! So, you guys ready?
You're on the internet one day.

Unfortunately, the power goes out before you can send them off to the proper people.

Fortunately, the teacher got deathly ill and has more things to deal with than a student's tardy work.
Unfortunately, you get a replacement teacher who is the unholy spawn of spite and pure meanness.
